Warm, sustainable & stylish: sew your own coat from German Tweed
Autumn is the perfect season to try your hand at cozy sewing projects. In keeping with this, Katja from the WuselGewusel blog has sewn a beautiful hooded coat from our German Tweed as part of the Tweedliebe series, a collaboration between Bernina and Zuleeg. For this project, she chose the Câlin pattern from Louloute—ideal for beginners, as it does not require a lining and so perfectly showcases the natural warmth of the tweed.

Sustainable sewing with German Tweed from Zuleeg
Katja attaches great importance to sustainable and natural fabrics—and that's exactly what makes German Tweed so special. The fabric is 100% made in Germany, within a radius of only 90 km. The wool comes from German sheep, making the tweed not only warm and high-quality, but also particularly environmentally friendly.
A coat made from German Tweed by Zuleeg is not only a fashion highlight, but also a statement for sustainability and quality.

Câlin sewing pattern by Louloute – the perfect introduction to the world of coats
The Câlin sewing pattern by Louloute is ideal for anyone who wants to try their hand at making a coat for the first time. Thanks to its simple construction without lining, the project is beginner-friendly and quick to sew. The German tweed provides natural warmth, eliminating the need for additional lining. The result is a cozy, fashionable coat with a hood that is perfect for the fall and winter seasons.
The maxi check design is ideal for beginners. Thanks to the generous pattern, the fabric still looks harmonious even if the checks do not line up exactly when cutting. This creates a harmonious result – without any stress when cutting.
